Ria Vlavianos' exhibition "Threaded Line" March 2022
Elefteria Vlavianos draws on her Armenian and Greek heritage to produce works of complexity, subtlety and simultaneous strength and fragility. As she tells Richard Morecroft, all her art is both abstract and representational; abstract in form, yet referencing the threads of traditional embroidery as well as the illuminated Biblical illustrations of Armenian history. Building layers of pigment and then threading or tacking layered nets of lines above them, Elefteria invites the viewer to hover in the liminal space between. https://mcontemp.com/exhibition/eleft...
