"God said, 'Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let dry land appear.' And it was so. God called the dry land Earth. And God saw that it was good. God said, 'Let the land produce vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed.'" — Genesis 1:9-13 Pay attention to the order of what happens on the third day. First, God makes the waters recede, and dry land appears. Only after the dry land exists does He ask it to produce vegetation. FIRST THE SOIL. THEN THE FRUIT. Not the other way around. You cannot bear fruit from chaos. You cannot flourish from a place where there is still no solid ground. And if you're in a period where you feel unproductive, where your effort isn't bearing fruit, before asking yourself what you're doing wrong, ask yourself something different. Is there solid ground where I'm planting? And there's something at the end of the third day that brings everything to a close in an extraordinary way. God doesn't just make the soil appear. He asks it to produce fruit WITH HIS SEED WITHIN. The fruit God designs is not sterile. Each fruit contains within itself the seed of the next fruit. GOD'S BLESSING IS NOT AN ISOLATED FRUIT. IT'S A SYSTEM THAT REPRODUCES. But only when there's solid ground in which to plant.
