Community Work Lecture Series | Session 3 – Part 1: Community Work and Subjective and Collective Agency with Prof. Dr. Michael May This video was produced as part of the online Community Work lecture series in the summer semester of 2025. The third session focused on community work and subjective and collective agency. Prof. Dr. Michael May (member of the Hessian Doctoral Center) provides insights into community work as self-empowerment: organizing, further developed, also as the organization of experience. The lecture series is part of a trinational collaboration between experts from Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, organized under the umbrella of the Community Work section of the German Association for Social Work (DGSA). The lecture series aims to provide access to current research findings, theoretical debates, and practice-oriented projects. The format is geared towards practitioners, students, and academics.
