I Didn't Know if this Technique Would Work | ASMR-ish oil painting

The second layer was with a large watercolor brush. This is the third session, and the first time I'm picking up an oil brush. I build depth, texture, and dimension into the trees, and create a pleasant illusion I already enjoy looking at. This is my first experience with this technique, and I'm overjoyed at how well it's working. I chose a smaller canvas for this experiment because I wasn't sure where it would lead, but I already want to try it again on a larger scale.
