Fixing what I messed up (and enjoying it) | Oil painting (ASMR-ish)

Painting: "Leaf and Light" Session 5 Thank you for watching! :) If you'd like, you can support my work here: https://ko-fi.com/jay_paints I have a lot of fun in the session and somehow talk a lot about movies, story writing, and group psychology. The actual painting isn't particularly flashy, but I fix a whole lot of things that were going wrong. 00:00 Let's paint 03:32 Addressing that dark spot on top 04:52 The feeling from art, and why we seek it 07:12 The movie "Seven" oh boy 10:22 Technique: Writing story characters who dislike each other 13:09 Messing up the edges for better effect 18:35 So speaking of story writing... 23:49 I need some chaos here! 27:50 Trying to not mess with the orange TOO much... 28:28 What excites me about story writing 35:09 Group psychology I spend most of the time fixing edges, adding depth, and cleaning up areas that weren’t working. The swooshies, the fuzziness, and especially the leaves. They were fuzzy. Leaves aren't supposed to be fuzzy. This whole session is a giant mess, but it moves things forward. If you’ve ever had to go back and fix something you hoped would just work itself out, you will relate :) I hope you enjoy!
