Nobody Rides This Road | Solo In Turkey's Secret Mountains

I wasn't planning to take this road. The night before in Patara I found a route that hugged the coast more closely than the D400 — smaller, less traveled, closer to the sea. What I didn't know was that it would turn into one of the most remote and demanding rides I've ever done. Massive limestone mountains, no guardrails, roads that see almost no foreign traffic. At one point I stopped at a small campsite on the unnamed road (literally per Google Maps). The family running it had never met an American before. 35°C / 95°F. Solo. No other foreigners in sight. This is Day 3, Part 2 of my five day solo motorcycle journey through southern Turkey — from Antalya to Fethiye along the ancient Lycian coast. In Part 3 I arrive in Fethiye, explore the city at sunset, and end up in one of the most unexpected conversations of the entire trip with a local Turkish guy on the waterfront. 0:55 Leaving Patara 1:50 Camp site 4:23 Leaving camp site and riding into mountains 8:50 Photo spot and meeting old man on scooter who took my photo 11:02 Butterfly Valley 13:28 Leaving the valley along coastline 13:57 Incredible views descending down 16:30 Breakfast in Fethiye 16:57 Hotel arrival ▶ Read deeper essays & stories → https://themodernsovereign.substack.com ▶ Get my free Exit Guide → https://themodernsovereign.gumroad.co... ▶ IG for raw moments →   / chris_hanna7   #turkey #fethiye #motorcycle #antalya #yamaha
