He Asked If I Was Scared — Solo Moto Up Turkey's Most Dangerous Mountain

I wasn't planning to ride Babadağ mountain when I started this trip. But after four days of coastal highways and mountain passes, I figured how hard could it be? Harder than I thought. Babadağ (Turkish for grandfather) is one of the world's most famous paragliding mountains, rising from sea level to nearly 1,940 meters (6,400') above Ölüdeniz. The road up is one lane, no guardrails, carved into the cliff face — and shared with full-size shuttle buses carrying paragliders to the top, taking blind corners at speed. I passed exactly zero other motorcycles. This is Day 4 of my five day solo motorcycle journey through southern Turkey. Next up — Ölüdeniz beach and the final push toward the end of the trip. ▶ Read deeper essays & stories → https://themodernsovereign.substack.com ▶ Get my free Exit Guide → https://themodernsovereign.gumroad.co... ▶ IG and TikTok for raw moments → @chris_hanna7 #turkey #turkeymoto #fethiye #motorcycle
