Hiking 450km on the Lycian Way in Turkey

In March /April 2024 (Spring), I hiked the Lycian Way (or Likya Yolu in Turkish) from the town of Ölüdeniz (near Fethiye) to Geyikbayırı (near Antalya) in Türkiye. There are many variations of the Lycian Way, so the total distance can vary anywhere from 400km - 760km, depending on what route(s) you decide to walk. Likya Yolu passes by many greco-roman ruins and popular areas such as Butterfly Valley, Patara Ancient City, the Ancient City of Olympos and Olympos Beydagları National Park. I mostly camped in my tent on this hike, with the occasional night in a hotel. I resupplied food at supermarkets in the various towns I passed through and also ate at many restaurants and cafes along the way. I purchased bottled water at supermarkets and refilled them using the fresh water taps provided or at cafes. This hike was harder than I thought it would be. While stunningly beautiful, do not underestimate the steep inclines and loose rocky parts. The Lycian Way truly is an amazing trail to be experienced.
