Honda Nighthawk Cam Chain Tensioner Spring Replacement

This video takes you through replacing the spring for the camshaft chain tensioner on a Honda Nighthawk. Some of these bikes develop a rattle after 15k miles and this is a known fix for many 650 models as well as 700s. There are two main factors that need to be correct. One is the correct spring pressure and the other is a positive lock of said pressure. A new spring corrects the tension but, this locking design leaves a bit to be desired IMO. I hope to come up with a modern solution soon. I sourced the springs, pins, and gaskets from CMSNL - https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb700sc-n... You can actually buy a new tensioner assembly which may be the best course but that is up to you. The 550 and 650 springs are not available from CMS but a popular replacement can be purchased from Jim Frazer who can be found within the Nighthawk group on Facebook -  / cb650sc   I use multiple AMSOIL products and highly recommend their assembly lube found here: https://www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-engin...
