RARE, John DeLorean built a high-speed go-kart Rescue

Hi Guys, here is the back story on this go kart, Before designing his iconic gull-wing sports car, automotive legend John DeLorean and his brother Jack created Grand Prix of America in the early 1970s. They built advanced, 7/10-scale Indy racing karts powered by high-tech Sachs-Wankel rotary engines. These were designed for the general public to race against the clock on four tracks in Michigan. The DeLorean brothers wanted to bring high-speed racing to everyday drivers. The karts were serious machines, stretching 9 feet long. They featured: Tubular steel frames, All-wheel disc brakes, Up to 20 horsepower, Think of these like miniature Formula 1 cars. Typical go-karts from this era used small, 5-horsepower lawnmower engines. The DeLoreans built their karts to go as fast as 40 mph on tight, curvy tracks. The business struggled and closed after just a few years. However, the concept caught the eye of an entrepreneur named Ron Cameron. He bought the assets and intellectual property and launched the highly successful Malibu Grand Prix franchise.
