The PUCP School of Government and Public Policy invites you to relive the Masterclass: “Decentralization in Action: How to Transform Regional and Municipal Powers into Services that Actually Reach Citizens,” a live session designed to reflect on the current challenges of subnational public management and how regional and municipal governments can strengthen their responsiveness to bring better services to the population. Within the framework of the decentralization process, subnational governments play a key role in promoting territorial development and providing public services. However, this challenge requires a clear understanding of their powers, management tools, funding sources, and governance challenges. This masterclass will review these aspects from an applied perspective, with an emphasis on the articulation between state organization, territorial development, and results for citizens. What topics will we cover in the session? • The role of regional and municipal governments in the decentralization process. • Which powers, instruments, and capacities are key to better subnational management. • What challenges does regional and municipal governance face today in translating into effective public services?
