The PUCP School of Government and Public Policy invites you to relive the model class of the Public-Private Partnerships course: "The Contribution of PPPs in Peru: Beyond Closing Gaps," a live session designed to analyze the role of Public-Private Partnerships in the development of infrastructure and public services in the country. While PPPs are often associated with closing infrastructure gaps, their contribution can go far beyond that: they allow for the incorporation of technical capabilities, financing schemes, risk management, and sustainability mechanisms that can improve the quality and continuity of public services. During the session, we will review which decisions are key to a viable PPP, which phases define its success, and how state and private initiatives are coordinated in this process. What topics were covered in the session? • The value of PPPs in closing gaps and improving public services. • The critical phases of a PPP project: planning, formulation, structuring, transaction, and contract execution. • The Role of Asset-Based Projects as an Alternative for Better Leveraging Public Resources The session was led by Carlos Chávarry Calderón, an economist and engineer from the National University of Engineering, with a master's degree in Regulation and Management of Public Services from the University of the Pacific and studies in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) from CAF and IDB.
