E188 Naturbrut vs. Kunstbrut Teil 4: Aggressionspotential bei jungen Hähnen senken, bei HAPPY HUHN
The fourth part of my major NATURAL INHALING versus ARTIFICIAL INCUBATION special focuses on the question of whether the rearing method can influence the aggression potential of young roosters. I want to raise as "gentle" roosters as possible, who, like their father, gain trust in humans, but are still sufficiently reserved towards their owners and strangers. Because it can be observed, especially in the group of European landraces (typical examples of European landraces are Proveis-Ultentaler, Altsteirer, Augsburger, German Sperber, Partridge-colored Italians, Bergische Schlotterkämme, Castilian, Appenzeller Bearded Hens, East Frisian Gulls), that many of the "baddest" roosters originate from artificial incubation (and are likely imprinted), I want to give my artificially incubated chicks the opportunity to learn the pecking order and grow up in a somewhat natural environment as they grow up. For this reason, they are now to be belatedly integrated into Klara's naturally incubated flock of chicks. Chicks that are 2 weeks old, 3 weeks old, or even older are supposedly impossible to get used to a broody hen (according to countless reports), but I want to prove that it can still be successful with a "peaceful," calm broody hen. I'll start my "re-introduction experiment" with a single chick first and then continue it with the remaining 6 artificially incubated chicks in the next episode. Further reading on the topic of chicks and natural hatching can be found in my new book "HAPPY CHICKEN," available to order here: https://avbuch-shop.at/landleben/hobb...
