Trout Towns Ep. 4 - Hancock, NY

Nestled on the outskirts of Catskills Park in south eastern New York State, Hancock is a charming mountain town where the West and East Branch Delaware Rivers meet to form the Main Stem Delaware. Fishing in the eastern United States doesn’t get any better than this. These two large rivers (both tailwater wild trout fisheries) should be on your bucket list with exceptionally sized Browns and Rainbows. As far as history, Hancock has been a mountain retreat since the mid-19th century with hotels and accommodations provided to visitors, not to mention its connections to Major League Baseball as well as the lumbering and stone quarrying industries. Although not as impressive architecturally as some larger Trout Towns we will visit, Hancock does have some notable commercial, religious, and public architecture to briefly explore.
