Trout Towns Ep. 17 - Stroudsburg, PA

On this episode of Trout Towns, were in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania - your gateway to fly fishing the historically significant trout streams descending from the Poconos mountains. Our first stop on this trip will be to Brodhead Creek. Also known as the crown jewel of the Poconos, this medium to large sized freestone trout stream is teaming with both wild and stocked fish. We’ll then make our way to another one of Stroudsburg’s productive tributaries, with an impressive population of wild browns just minutes from downtown. While in town, we’ll then explore Stroudsburg’s rich historical past, from the revolutionary war in the 18th century, through 19th century natural resource extraction and industrialization, through to Poconos tourism of the 20th century and today. We’ll also highlight some of Stroudsburg’s historically significant architecture, including styes such as Georgian, Richardsonian Romanesque, English Gothic Revival, and Art Deco, just to name a few.
