Trout Towns Ep. 11 - Williamsport, PA

On this episode of Trout Towns, were in Williamsport Pennsylvania - your homebase for fishing the numerous large sized freestone streams and exploring extensive state forests for babbling brooks and productive tributaries. Our first stop on this trip will be to Lycoming Creek - this large sized freestone trout stream is heavily stocked with plenty of public access and beautiful scenery. We’ll then explore one of Lycoming Creeks premiere medium sized freestone tributary streams with naturally reproducing brown and brook, and dare I say rainbow trout all surrounded by 10’s of thousands of acres of protected forest lands. While in town, we’ll then explore Williamsports rich historical past - dating back to the late 18th century, this rugged frontier town eventually became home to a booming logging industry with extensive forturnes made. This town even suffered a devastating fire but bounced back to become home to a nationally distributed newspaper and become the birthplace of little league baseball. We’ll also highlight some of Williamsports well maintained historic architecture. With styles ranging from Beaux Arts and Romanesque Revival to Victorian Gothic and Art Deco, Williamsport is one of Pennsylvania’s architectural gems worth visiting. Please join me today as we fish, explore, and embrace our very next Trout Town in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
