I went to Mochikura Mine, located in the mountains of Aga Town, Niigata Prefecture. It looks just like the temple in the Ghibli film Laputa. It's built with distinctive jet-black bricks (korami-renga), which glow in seven colors depending on the angle of the light. After the Mochikura Copper Mine closed, it was reused as a storage area for fluorite mined at the Isoshima Mine, located further into the mountains.
