Live streaming content creators, known as streamers, are revolutionizing the traditional market. On the main streaming platform, there are now seven million channels with people doing live streams of all kinds. In 2025 alone, viewers stopped and watched more than 19 billion hours of this type of content. A market that is expected to generate around US$257 billion, or approximately R$1.5 trillion, by 2030. At 20 years old, Jonathan Augusto, aka Tota MC, born and raised in Rocinha, transformed his authenticity into a powerful tool. He became a hit on streaming platforms when he was invited to the United States by the world's biggest streamer: Kai Cenat. The American hosted the Brazilian at his home and decided to do a live stream. However, Tota didn't speak English. Soon after, another streaming legend – Ray – arrived, and the failed dialogue immediately went viral. Tota became a star. Famous people like rapper and actor Snoop Dogg and the Kardashians started following him. Today, he has over 4 million followers on a single platform, but the number that interests him most is how many people join and stay during his live streams: an average of 13,000 people.
