Ubatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo, was the scene of the disappearance of a 60-year-old woman, a case that puzzles family, friends, and even the police. A woman who disappeared shortly after being fired from her job. Berenice de Aguiar Faria, 60, is a housewife, widow, mother of three, and divided her time between work, outings (which she documented in lighthearted videos on social media), and caring for her youngest daughter, Anna Clara, 21. Two days after her disappearance, Berenice's three children came to Ubatuba and began a desperate search for their mother: "The last report we have is that the owner of the place gave her a ride to the Ubatumirim junction." Until the day of her disappearance, Berenice worked at a restaurant a little over 30 kilometers from Ubatuba. It's a place with many trails and waterfalls. The restaurant is next to a small market and a pet food store. The owner of everything is businesswoman Eliane Alves dos Santos – who also owns several other properties in the Ubatumirim neighborhood. She was contacted by Berenice's eldest son, José Carlos. The conversation was recorded on audio – the businesswoman expresses surprise when her son talks about his mother's disappearance: "She hasn't arrived yet? Because she left here saying she was going to Toninhas." Suspicious and fearful of what might have happened to their mother, Berenice's children begin a parallel investigation on their own.
