British Couple's FIRST IMPRESSIONS of FLORIDA 🇺🇸

📍Fort Lauderdale, Florida 🇺🇸 We woke up with the kind of buzzing energy you only get after a night spent python hunting deep in the Everglades. Mosquitos had a feast on my neck, but in return, we saw things most people will never see. Snakes sliding through the dark. The prehistoric stare of an American crocodile. Bucket list stuff. To see some insane python catches and learn about the conservation of the Florida Everglades, see Kyle and Meg's channel! ‪@TheCritterCult‬ Before we get to that later in the video, we took our very first steps into Fort Lauderdale. Our introduction to Florida began in WaWa, a place that instantly entered the debate for America's best gas station alongside Quick Trip. A strong Cuban coffee set the tone for a Cuban lunch, and Fort Lauderdale might just be one of the best places outside Havana to eat Cuban food. At an unassuming spot called Little Cuban Cafe, trays of hot food sat ready the moment we walked in. The staff greeted us with the warmth you always hope for in a diaspora kitchen. We drank mate and fresh fruit juices, tried our first Cuban sandwich, croquetas, and a beef empanada I won't forget anytime soon. Later, we wandered the downtown river walk. A hundred-foot yacht glided through an open drawbridge as if putting on a show. Skyscrapers rose along the waterways that led out toward the Florida coast. Clean. Striking. The kind of place you assume Dubai studied before building anything. Then Lauderdale by the Sea. No swimming gear on us, so I went in wearing nothing but my underwear, splashing about in the waves and looking back at a skyline studded with palms. You can see why people retire here. I dried off naturally in the warm Atlantic breeze before heading to Even Keel Fish Shack for Mahi catch of the day and cold oysters. A few Surfside hard ice teas later and it was the perfect afternoon. This place feels different from the America we know, a reminder of just how massive and varied this country really is. We ended the day back in the Everglades, searching for pythons under a sky full of stars. An experience I’ll never forget. 👨🏻‍💻 Give us a follow on your favorite social media:   / jackaynsleytravel     / jackaynsleytravel   &   / paigeaynsleytravel     / jackaynsleytravel   &   / paigeaynsleytravel   👋🏼 Support us!
