We received a box of wildlife related letterpress cuts from one of our followers in Nevada
If you have been following along our longer videos, you’ll know that we have received in the mail quite a few gifts for Jared, Howard, and our print shop. Social media has connected us with people from all over the world and we sometimes get wonderful gifts from followers. We received a package in the mail from one of our followers in Nevada, who found these cuts being thrown away many years ago from the California Department of Food and Agriculture in Sacramento. In this video, Howard opened the box containing a wide variety of letterpress cuts. Many of the cuts depict wildlife and insects that can negatively impact agricultural production. At the end of this video, Jared letterpress printed the largest one depicting a World War I ad campaign to eliminate ground squirrels from destroying crops. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press. We are incredibly thankful for this gift and it is a wonderful addition to our print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. #unboxing #history #museum #sacramento #letterpress #squirrel #squirrels #printingpress #printing #oldsacramento #sachistorymuseum #asmr #printmaking #printshop #ytshorts #shortsvideo #youtubeshorts #shorts
