(Only One Working Bell) Canterbury (St. Stephens) Level Crossing, Kent

Date filmed: 20/04/2021 Videos filmed at: 11:58 | 12:08 | 12:21 | 12:26 Route: Ashford to Ramsgate Line Canterbury West Station Timetable used: Canterbury West Location: St Stephen's Road, Canterbury Trains featured: Lowering 1 (0:00): Class 377 (Southeastern) - 1:49 - Lowering 2 (2:25): Class 395 (Southeastern) - 3:11 - Lowering 3 (3:53): Class 395 (Southeastern) - 6:00 - Lowering 4 (6:46): Class 377 (Southeastern) - 7:40 A level crossing found in the east of Canterbury in a suburban location and setting. This level crossing still retained its mechanical bells to the day of recording, and these were rather uniquely placed within newer, retrofitted SPX barrier units which were installed here in 2019, and the bells were kept following this renewal. However, the bell within the barrier on the Ramsgate-bound side had more recently broken, and was not sounding when these videos were filmed, which left only one working bell here although the working bell was perfectly audible around the level crossing. The bells have ceased to exist here as of October 2023, though. Four separate lowerings are featured in this video, each filmed close-up from each corner of the level crossing. Only the first of these four lowerings has been filmed in ultra-wide. Captions were originally edited into this video, but as a video-editing concept, these were short-lived for me, and I do not edit these into my videos anymore. Thanks for watching!
