Bahnverkehr in Ulzburg-Süd mit AKN VTA + Werbezug, Nordbahn Br 648 und AKN Br 622

Ulzburg-Süd is an AKN train station in the district of Hennstedt-Ulzburg of the same name and was opened in 1953. It was built to connect the AKN main line, Eidelstedt - Quickborn - Henstedt-Ulzburg - Kaltenkirchen(Holst) - Bad Bramstedt - Neumünster, with the newly built "Alsternordbahn" at that time and was originally called Beckershof. The Alsternordbahn, which begins in Ulzburg-Süd, was the first newly built railway line in the Federal Republic and originally ran to Ochsenzoll. The station has three platform tracks and two island platforms. This means that track 2 has platforms on both sides. In the operating concept that ran until August 2023, the Alsternordbahn trains ended and began on track 2, so that transfers to and from line A1 were possible in both directions without changing platforms. However, due to the handover of the Ulzburg-Süd - Neumünster section from the A1 to the A2, due to the upgrade of the A1 line for the S5 project, this is no longer possible. The two platforms are connected to each other via passenger crossings and can only be entered or left via these. To the south of the platforms there are two sidings which are used by trains on line A3 for turning around.
