How to Make Prince Rupert's Metal - Imitation Gold - Golden Mask
How to make Prince Rupert's metal otherwise known as imitation gold. Today I'm making a golden mask out of Prince Rupert's metal. Named after Prince Rupert of the Rhine. This metal was designed as an imitation gold for those who couldn't afford real gold. Fairly simple to make, this golden brass looks just like gold. Prince Rupert's metal is an alpha brass comprising of 75% copper and 25% zinc, or 3 parts copper to 1 part zinc. This fake gold dates back to the 17th century. Many people desired gold but couldn't afford it. This gold brass mask has a beautiful colour and looks very similar to real gold.
