Casting A Brass Mask From A Cannon | Molten Metal Explosion !!

In this video i sand cast a brass mask using a brass cannon and some scrap brass. Great fun apart from the bit where the molten metal exploded !!! Molten metal does not make a good fashion accessory ! I'm using Petrobond sand in the mold for the casting and an existing wooden mask for the pattern. This project is for my own educational purposes so i might learn about sprue placement, channels, vents etc. This is also the ideal piece for me to teach myself how to polish properly. I would like to polish this to a mirror finish in the future. Lots to learn (Obviously !), enjoying experimenting with new things. Back to copper next week probably.
