How to calculate a round pan into a square pan and vice versa. I never answer these questions because, frankly, I don't have time to convert them for everyone. Today, I'll answer all these questions and include an ingredient conversion chart in the description below the video so you can always easily navigate and avoid wasting time on calculations. So, I'll try to explain how it works in simple terms. We have a 16 cm diameter pan. I usually bake cakes in it for videos because I have to eat them later, and I'm mainly trying to watch my figure. And you've decided to bake a cake in a 24 cm pan for the whole family. It's simple. Remember back to school, around 5th grade? The area of a circle is equal to pi squared. Pi is a constant and equals 3.1415926. Pi is half the diameter, so a 16-inch round shape will have a radius of 8. Plug in the numbers and get 8, multiply by 8, and multiply by 3.14 to get 201 cm². Take the second shape you have, which is 24 cm, and its radius is 12 cm. Multiply 12 x 12, square it, and multiply by pi 3.14 to get 452. The area of the larger shape, 452, is divided by the area of the smaller shape, 201, and we get a coefficient of 2.24. So, to get a cake of the same height but with a larger diameter, you need to multiply all the ingredients by 2.24. I hope I explained it clearly.
