welcome back to another very sweaty, moist edition of the daily meat! Today is Monday, the 6th of July, 2026, and a massive summer heatwave has returned to the UK, hitting a boiling 31°C. The puppies are hibernating in the living room, and I’m out trying to book Mrs. Meat's Audi TT in for an air-con regas before she melts on her commute. To try and survive the heat, I mosey down to Tesco in the Vitara for a quick sausage, bacon, and egg meal-deal fest, some spicy Frank's Red Hot chicken refrigerators, and a large bottle of Henry Weston’s 7.3% vintage cider to wash away the summer blues back on the meat recliner. But the absolute headline news happens at 8:30 PM... Out of nowhere, the mechanic rolls round and THE MEAT WAGON LIVES! 🤯 After two weeks to the day since breaking down on that Welsh mountain pass, we find out the exact culprit: a completely stripped diesel pump timing belt. We get her thrown back out of service mode, fire up that glorious Audi-developed 2.5 TDI engine, and take her out for a proper late-night blast up the road to clear the fuel lines and charge the battery.
