What was initially reported as an armed robbery by motorcycle-borne criminals turned out to be a carefully planned conspiracy by two trusted company employees who joined hands with their friend to embezzle the cash. Timarpur Police arrested all three accused and recovered 36.92 lakh from their possession. According to the police, a PCR call was received on Wednesday reporting that three motorcycle-borne robbers had snatched a bag containing 37.50 lakh near Burari Chowk before fleeing the spot. A police team immediately reached the location and launched an investigation. The complainants, company employees Abhishek and Yogesh, told police that they were transporting the cash from Kucha Mahajani to Saraswati Nagar when they were intercepted by three men on motorcycles who snatched the cash-filled bag. They further claimed that they chased the robbers with the help of passersby and managed to catch one of the accused. According to their version, the captured suspect was later handed over to them. However, they alleged that the accused suddenly attacked Yogesh, escaped, and fled with his mobile phone. While the story initially appeared convincing, investigators found several inconsistencies. The biggest question was how a suspect who had allegedly been overpowered could escape so easily, and how his mobile phone had mysteriously disappeared. The statements given by the employees also contained multiple contradictions. Rather than relying solely on their statements, Timarpur Police began examining CCTV footage from the area, call detail records (CDRs), mobile locations, and other technical evidence. The digital investigation gradually exposed the entire conspiracy. Police discovered that Vipin, a close friend of Abhishek and Yogesh, was present in the Chandni Chowk area at the time of the incident and had been in constant contact with both employees. Armed with this evidence, investigators questioned Abhishek and Yogesh separately. Under sustained interrogation, both confessed that no robbery had actually taken place. Instead, they had conspired with Vipin to steal the company's money by fabricating a fake robbery. According to the investigation, the plan had been prepared in advance. After collecting the cash, the employees created a false robbery narrative to make it appear that unknown criminals had escaped with the money. The claims about catching one suspect, the alleged assault, and the suspect escaping with a mobile phone were all fabricated to mislead investigators and divert suspicion away from themselves. Based on their disclosure, police arrested Vipin and recovered 36.92 lakh of the stolen cash from his possession. Investigators also recovered the mobile phone that the "escaped robber" was supposedly carrying. Surprisingly, the phone was found hidden on Abhishek and Yogesh's motorcycle, completely exposing the fabricated story. All three accused have been arrested, and legal proceedings are underway. Police are also investigating whether any other individuals were involved in planning or executing the conspiracy. The case serves as a reminder that financial crimes are not always committed by outsiders. In this incident, the people entrusted with transporting the company's cash became the masterminds behind the theft. However, modern investigative techniques—including CCTV analysis, mobile location tracking, call records, and forensic examination—helped Delhi Police unravel the conspiracy quickly, turning what appeared to be a daring daylight robbery into a case of criminal breach of trust by the company's own employees.
