Studer Revox anno 1994

In 1990, at the age of 77, Willi Studer sold his two companies, Studer and ReVox, for approximately 30 million Swiss francs. His primary goal at the time was to ensure the company remained based in Switzerland, thereby securing jobs and preserving the companies' good reputation. Consequently, offers from Sony and Philips, who had expressed interest, were rejected. Studer was acquired by the Swiss company "Motor Columbus" and quickly ran into serious difficulties, ultimately leading to another sale and layoffs. ReVox was acquired by an investor group and subsequently became successful. Both companies still exist today, but are no longer affiliated. STUDER has specialized entirely in the production of high-end professional studio and live mixing consoles and has changed hands several times in recent years. After being acquired by the Harman Group of the USA, the company is now part of Evertz of Canada. All production facilities for current STUDER products have since been relocated from Europe to Canada. ReVox continues to produce high-quality, premium hi-fi components with a strong emphasis on design. The 1994 TV report shows how industrial pioneer Willi Studer watched as his life's work was sold by Motor Columbus to the Harman Group, thus ending its Swiss ownership (as he had wished). Willi Studer died on March 1, 1996, at the age of 84. Links: https://www.studerundrevox.de/info-wi... https://evertz.com/solutions/studer/ http://www.revox.de
