Taynara Ribeiro Pita faced a complicated situation when she took her car for repairs to a mechanic shop in Vila Flórida, Guarulhos (SP). The case was featured on the "Consumer Sheriff" segment of the Balanço Geral news program. In January 2025, she requested an estimate and diagnosis to sell the vehicle. However, the delay in services led Taynara to file a civil lawsuit against the shop. During the legal proceedings, it was agreed that Taynara would receive R$ 18,000 for moral and material damages. Furthermore, it was discovered that the car had been used by the shop's team without her prior authorization. An expert found that parts supposedly replaced remained unchanged. The owner of the shop, Rodrigo, argued financial difficulties as the reason for delays in paying the installments agreed upon in court. He commented: "We are not refusing to solve the problem." Despite this, Rodrigo publicly committed to fulfilling the obligations established by the court. The report also highlighted the necessary precautions when choosing auto repair shops: checking their background and avoiding upfront payments are essential recommendations to prevent situations similar to the one experienced by Taynara.
