Xerife do Consumidor: Prótese dentária quebra e paciente enfrenta dificuldade para consertá-la

José Carlos dos Santos was diagnosed with oral cancer and was cleared to undergo a cosmetic dental procedure to improve his chewing ability. He found the Vanessa Freire Institute, a dental clinic in the eastern zone of São Paulo, to have dentures and crowns fitted. The treatment began in November 2024, and when José arrived home, he saw that the denture was broken. The patient missed his own granddaughter's birthday because his teeth were falling out. Furthermore, the treatment contract contains a signature that José does not recognize. Consumer Sheriff Jorge Wilson went to the clinic to try to resolve José's problem. On their first attempt, they found the establishment closed. The owner, Vanessa, contacted them and scheduled a new date for them to go to the clinic. Regarding the contract, Vanessa advised José to file a police report and assured him that no one had forged a signature. The owner said she had spoken with the laboratory and that he would receive a more expensive denture. An agreement was reached between Vanessa and José for improvements to the dental prostheses.
