In Mark, the account of Jesus' life only begins in his adulthood; he is baptized by John, is tempted by Satan in the desert, and then begins his work as an itinerant social worker in Galilee. He preaches, heals the mentally and physically ill - and also gets into trouble, namely with the religious authorities (the scribes), who criticize him for his violations of the rules. But his family also feels alienated by his lifestyle. After many miracles and healings, he moves to Jerusalem, where he teaches in the temple and again has arguments with the elders, high priests, and scribes. They had him arrested shortly before Passover, interrogated, convicted of heresy, and sentenced to death by the Roman governor Pontius Pilate. This punishment was carried out by the cruel instrument of crucifixion – but two days later, three women from his followers wanted to anoint his body again. First, a young man appeared, then Jesus appeared several times and sent his disciples out into the world. However, the appearance of Jesus and what followed were missing from the earliest versions of the text.
