This is day 2 of our Tohoku trip. We started the morning with breakfast at the Hirosaki Grand Hotel. That day, we headed to Kizukuri Station, having heard about its rather unusual station building. However, when we got off at Kawabe Station, we discovered the next train was an unexpected two hours later. There was almost nothing around, and before I knew it, I had walked all the way to the neighboring town of Fujisaki. I killed some time at Aeon and finally managed to catch a train. And then I finally arrived at Kizukuri Station. The station itself is shaped like a clay figurine's face, which is quite impactful. Having accomplished my goal, I headed straight back to Hirosaki. I also tried to visit the crepe shop that I'd seen on morning TV, which is associated with Jiro from Sissonne, but the line was so long I gave up. After that, I went to Hirosaki Castle. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the cherry blossom festival for a bit, then returned to my accommodation. In the evening, I went back to Hirosaki Castle Park. With a beer in hand, I enjoyed the cherry blossoms at night, and that was the end of the day. Day 2 of the Tohoku trip starts with breakfast at Hirosaki Grand Hotel. The goal for the day was visiting Kizukuri Station, famous for its giant clay figure design. But after getting off at Kawabe Station, the next train wasn't for another two hours. After wandering around Fujisaki and waiting at a local AEON, I finally arrived at the station. The giant dogu face was definitely memorable.
