KRUI (June 30, 2026) – A perpetrator of alleged sexual violence was arrested by the Pesisir Barat Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Talang Pagelaran, Sukamarga Village, Bangkunat District, on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM WIB. The man had been a fugitive for six months. The perpetrator, identified as A, 44, a daily laborer, was arrested on suspicion of sexual violence against a mentally disabled girl. The heinous act occurred five times from October to November 2025. The victim was the daughter of his friend in Bengkunat, Pesisir Barat. The Head of the Pesisir Barat Police Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Meidy Hariyanto, stated on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, that the perpetrator is suspected of not only repeated sexual violence but also of intimidation and physical violence. Each time he attempted to gratify his lust, the perpetrator beat the victim and threatened to kill her if she spoke out. Due to the torture and threats, the victim was helpless. The investigation revealed that the victim allegedly experienced sexual violence five times in Bengkunat in October 2025 and four consecutive times in a rice field hut in Pekon Way Jambu, Pesisir Selatan District, until December 24, 2025. This hut belonged to the victim's family. The perpetrator confessed to the crime, claiming he had been dating the victim for three years. The victim was the daughter of a friend who had given him odd jobs as a laborer. The victim's father initially assigned A to look after the coffee plantation until he got to know her. The Pesisir Barat Police Criminal Investigation Unit secured evidence: two post-mortem reports (visum et repertum), six documents from the victim's psychological examination and counseling, and the clothing she was wearing at the time of the incident. The suspect was charged under Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence or Article 473 paragraph 2 letter d of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
