XPENG L03 | Da 34.900€, anche BENZINA e qualità TOP

Where there are horses, I am there too, and this time they were Chinese horses with European ambitions. XPeng organized a huge international event to reaffirm its commitment to attacking the European market, and the star of the show is the new L03: 4.65 meters long, priced from €34,900 for the all-electric version, which is no small feat for such a well-built vehicle. The L03 comes in two powertrains. The electric version features second-generation lithium iron phosphate batteries, available in two capacities (approximately 58 and 71 kWh), capable of charging up to 240 kW at a sustained peak to nearly 80%, in less than 20 minutes from 10 to 80%. Configurations range from a single motor to dual-motor all-wheel drive, with power outputs up to approximately 380 hp and a claimed WLTP range of 520 km on the larger battery. The truly convincing figure is its efficiency: approximately 15 kWh per 100 km, with a 71 kWh battery that's almost half that of an electric BMW X3. The REV version, with a gasoline range extender, offers over 1,000 km of combined range and starts at €37,900. The design follows the XPeng philosophy of soft, edge-free forms, both inside and out, with the stated goal of creating a timeless style. The front end, with its single-bar headlight, is inevitably reminiscent of the Tesla Model Y, while the overall proportions are midway between a Model Y and a Model 3, which is slightly longer than the latter. Frameless mirrors, flush-fitting windows without visible gaskets, and 256-color ambient lighting: details that require engineering development and distance the car from the classic plastic shell of mainstream models. The trunk is rated at 370 liters according to Italian regulations (note: other sources report the Chinese figure, which is more generous but not representative for our market), with a double floor and a quick-release tow hook capable of holding up to 1,500 kg, excellent for an electric car. The audio system features up to 20 speakers, a subwoofer, and an adjustable parcel shelf for privacy. Inside, perceived quality is the real strength: soft-touch and padded materials throughout, double door seals, thick glass for soundproofing, and Alcantara-covered pillar. The central display is suspended and floating, not obstructing the view, while in front of the driver, a virtual head-up display creates the equivalent of a 30" screen projected onto the windshield, including maps. The small steering wheel with two minimalist spokes is vaguely reminiscent of Peugeot's i-Cockpit, but positioned high on the knees. The assisted driving system relies on three proprietary Turing chips, for a total processing power of 3,000 TOPS. The seats are incredibly soft, electrically adjustable, and feature cooled wireless charging. The overall ambience is surprising for a €34,900 car. But the rear seat is the most impressive part of the car: enormous knee room, a very reclined and comfortable seat, double cup holders, USB-C for fast charging, a hidden storage compartment under the seat, and ISOFIX attachments. You'd be hard-pressed to find a car this size with such generous rear passenger space: XPeng has clearly prioritized rear space over trunk space, in keeping with customer tastes. of the Chinese market. On the software front, XPeng hasn't locked everything into a Chinese ecosystem: Google Maps integration, Western components, a decidedly open approach for a company that, being a non-state-owned company, can freely choose its suppliers. Dedicated navigation for electric vehicles with calculation of charging points along the route. In summary: €34,900 for the electric model, €37,900 for the REV with over 1,000 km of combined range. The build quality and on-board technologies make the electric version a real competitor to the Tesla Model 3, while the REV, at this price, is seriously worth considering.
