“We Built 27 Bluebird Houses… Now Some Are Leaving the Farm”

This year we built 27 bluebird houses here on the farm to help expand the bluebird population around our pollinator field and gave away many houses to friends and neighbors. Bluebirds rely on nesting cavities, and as natural tree cavities become harder to find, nesting boxes like these can make a real difference in helping their populations grow. After installing many of these houses around the farm, I decided to do something a little different with a few of them. I boxed several up and sent them to creators whose channels I’ve really enjoyed watching over the years. My hope is that these houses will help bring bluebirds to their farms as well. Some of the bluebird houses in this video were sent to: Stoney Ridge Farmer    / @stoneyridgefarmer   Sheridan Park Farms    / @sheridanparkfarms   Tractor Time with Tim    / @tractortimewithtim   Be sure to check out their channels. They’ve been a great source of inspiration for projects like this. Over the coming weeks I’ll be monitoring these bluebird houses for nest building, eggs being laid, hatchlings, and fledglings, and I’ll be sharing updates as the season progresses.
