I always read "and God rested" on the seventh day on autopilot until I came across that verse in Isaiah that says in black and white that God never tires. That's where I got stuck: What is He resting from then? I went digging, and it hit me: the word we translate as "rested" doesn't speak of tiredness at all. It speaks of stopping, of settling down, of taking possession.
