A421 Flyover Takes Shape | A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet

This week, the pair of huge cranes dominates the centre of the site as construction advances around the new bridge structures and future free-flow junction. Concrete walls, foundations and major earthworks are continuing across the former Black Cat Roundabout, while the new road alignment becomes increasingly clear from the air. The project will replace the old roundabout with a new three-level junction, linking the A1, A421 and the new dual-carriageway section of the A428 towards Caxton Gibbet. Elsewhere along the route, work continues on new bridges, drainage, embankments and sections of carriageway as one of the largest road projects in the region moves closer to completion.
