WORLD CHAMPS Fly Fish This Way for a Reason...

In this video I tried fly fishing like a world champion using tight line nymphing, also known as euro nymphing, contact nymphing, or Czech nymphing. After watching World Championship fly fishing competitions and seeing how many trout these anglers catch, I wanted to try their method for myself and see if it really works on my local rivers and streams. I break down the basic euro nymphing setup, including the longer rod, mono leader, and nymph rig that competitive fly fishermen use, and then I put the method to the test on the water. Throughout this trip I catch multiple trout and explain why euro nymphing is so effective, how it helps you maintain contact with your flies, and why so many professional and competitive fly anglers rely on this technique to catch more fish. This method is especially effective in fast water, pocket water, and deeper runs where trout stay near the bottom.
