Queen - Live in Tokorozawa (3rd November 1982) - Audience Merge
QUEEN QUEEN QUEEN Tour: • Hot Space Tour (1982) | Leg 3: Japan Date: 3rd November 1982 Venue: Seibu Lions Stadium City: Tokorozawa, Japan Attendance: ca. 35,000 [Source 1: Main] Audio Quality: A- Lineage: Space Boogie (silver) - flac level 8 2005 'Space Boogie' Release by Wardour. The picture was taken by Koh Hasebe. This is the last show of the 'Hot Space' Tour and thus Queen have decided to shake up the setlist just a little bit, playing 'The Hero' and 'Save Me' instead of 'Rock It' and 'Teo Torriatte', although the former has stayed, now being played as an encore, like in 1981. Since the encores now include four full songs, this show is the only Japan 1982 show with two seperate encores. As the band would take many new directions from next year onwards, many songs are heard for the last time during this show; you can check which one by looking at the setlist down below! Technically, the stadium this show took place at is located in Tokorozawa, a suburb of Tokyo but as usually, Freddie simply refers to the audience by the bigger city's name, greeting them as people from Tokyo early on. Freddie's voice at this show is pretty much a quick compilation of the entire tour as it's both very strong (Freddie nails some great A4s and Bb4s) and very inconsistent, most notably during 'Play the Game', 'Body Language' (one of his all-time worst vocal performances), 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and 'We Are the Champions'. Nonetheless, the band are doing an incredible job tonight, giving this show their absolute all one more time and delivering fantastic jams during songs like 'Now I'm Here', 'Fat Bottomed Girls' or 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'. Since he'd be busy working with Elton John from 1984 onwards, this is the last show to feature Fred Mandel on keyboard as he would be replaced by Spike Edney for all subsequent Queen, Queen+ and solo tours. 00:00:00 - Cheering 00:00:21 - 01.
