Basketball Offense: The Down Screen (or Screen Away)
To find success on the offensive end of the court, basketball teams must work together. One of the ways they can do this is by working on executing screens. A solid screen can free up the ball handler to take a shot or pass the ball to a teammate. The down screen (or screen away) is an effective technique, as it opens up space for a shooter. If a defender attempts to shoot the gap during the screen, you can bump the screen to the corner for a catch and shoot.
