Aloo chicken Recipe || Potato Chicken Curry

Here’s a flavorful Aloo Chicken (Potato Chicken Curry) recipe using 1 kg chicken and 1 kg potatoes. Ingredients 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into medium chunks 3 large onions, thinly sliced 3 medium tomatoes, chopped (or 1 cup tomato puree) 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 4–5 green chilies ½ cup cooking oil or ghee Spices 3 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 2 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp crushed black pepper Garnishing Fresh coriander, chopped Instructions 1. Heat the oil in a large pot. Fry the potatoes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside. 2. In the same oil, fry the onions until golden brown. 3. Add the whole spices, then stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute. 4. Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil begins to separate. 5. Add the salt, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, and black pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes. 6. Add the chicken and cook on medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes until it changes color and starts releasing oil. 7. Stir in the yogurt (if using) and cook for another 2–3 minutes. 8. Add the fried potatoes and about 2–3 cups of hot water, depending on how much gravy you want. 9. Cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes, or until both the chicken and potatoes are tender. 10. Sprinkle the garam masala and add the green chilies. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes. 11. Garnish with fresh coriander and julienned ginger. Serve hot with roti, naan, or steamed rice. This recipe serves about 6–8 people.
