In today's video we are going to talk about a series that just speaks about the name childhood, it comes to mind: Lazy Town This series was part of the childhood of thousands of children around the world, and in Brazil it was a success: It was on SBT, Boomerang and Discovery Kids. LazyTown is an educational children's musical comedy television series, originally produced in Iceland and the United States. And it had a total of 4 seasons and 2 spin-offs. The creator of this series is Magnús Scheving, who happens to be the actor behind sportacus. In addition to being an actor, creator, writer and producer, he is also a gymnast! The book is entitled “Áfram Latibær!”, Which translating this, we have “Go! LazyTown ”, or“ Go LazyTown! ”. This book was released in 1991, but was adapted by Magnús himself in 1996 for a very well-produced musical. Which was basically the origin of everything, since after that, LazyTown became a phenomenon. The show was originally commissioned by Nickelodeon back in 2003, after seeing the musicals and the recorded pilot. (And it originally passed on Nick Jr.). We had the characters Sportacus (Magnús Scheving), we had Sthephanie (Julianna Mauriello and Chloe Lang) and our “so loved” Robbie (Stefán Karl Stefánsson). And besides them we had the dolls that were marked, like Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy and Pixel. It was once the Most Expensive Children's Series in the World. To give you an idea, the production of Each episode cost around 70 million Icelandic kroner. That equates to 1 Million Dollars per episode! When Season 2 ended, after 52 episodes, they created a spin-off called LazyTown Extra and lasted 26 episodes. And it was followed by yet another spin-off called Sprout's Super Sproutlet Show. And in 2013 they decided to return with the series, being produced in the 3rd and 4th season. The actor who played Robbie (Stefán Karl Stefánsson) unfortunately died in 2018 from cancer.
