WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY: Waking Up the WORLD'S BIGGEST Self-Propelled Gun After 12 Years

This week on Workshop Wednesday, Steve takes on something absolutely massive — our 2S7 Pion, the world's largest full-tracked self-propelled gun. This 46-tonne Soviet beast carries a 203mm cannon originally designed to fire nuclear shells, sits on a chassis built from T-72 and T-80 tank components, and hasn't moved in at least 12 years. The mission? Get it running to replace our M110 as a ride vehicle at AusArmourFest. Even Kurt steps in front of the camera for this one — you don't want to miss it. The 2S7 Pion (meaning "Peony" in Russian) entered Soviet service in the late 1970s and was one of the most powerful conventional artillery systems ever built, with a range of over 37km — or nearly 50km with rocket-assisted projectiles. Ours is one of very few in private hands anywhere in the world.
