Forging the Drive Shaft with STEAM! - Victorian Radial Drill Restoration PART 16
It was a huge privilege to be able to use the Victorian forge at Claymills pumping station to forge a new drive shaft for my radial drill project. Using wrought iron, we built up a collar feature by forge welding a ring to the shaft. Great fun, and the steam hammer was the perfect tool. Check out Claymills' own video telling the fascinating story of the site - • Saved From Demolition: The Victorian Pumpi... For info and steaming dates visit - https://www.claymills.org.uk/ A massive thank you to Will, for putting up with my silly ideas, Henry, for all the camera work, Ethen, for a quality job working the swages and of course Jacob and all the volunteers, for being so welcoming. And as always, thank you so much for watching! Follow me; / iron_jonsey https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
