Beechnuts - The edible nuts of the Beech tree.
Those gray, smooth barked trees that so many people carve their names into have a better purpose. They provide us with thousands of easy nuts in the fall. Not the biggest nut in the forest, but they are abundant at the right time and add a tasty treat in the months of September through October. I teach you how to identify the tree and also how to harvest and eat the nuts. There is no preperation involved, you can eat these nuts right off the tree. roasting them brings out even more flavor!
