Sekiro: Owl Father Boss Battle (NG+; Charmless)

Emphasis: Deflect, Divine Confetti, Flame Vent Strategy: Jesus this fight was tough. I thought regular Owl was bad but this right here is elite playing for Sekiro enthusiasts. Owl comes back faster than before with a new set of moves on top of the old ones. Main way to beat him is just to study every move and deflect or find openings. Divine Confetti helps in lowering his health, as well as fire or Ichimonji helps with both health and posture bar. If you have that technique, definitely use it, it WILL help a lot. When he uses firecrackers he'll either push strike then firecracker you and attack or he'll use firecrackers and then strike or use shadowfall. If he shoulder bumps and strike, you need to deflect both and then run towards him to his left (your right). Dash twice, this will put you behind him and then you can strike him from behind twice if you're quick enough. If you dash to the left, that's where his sword is and you'll most likely die if you mismaneuver this counter. If he does use shinobi and try to use shadowfall, you can Mikiri Counter this attack. If he tries to slash through the cloud, if you've dodged the firecrackers you can deflect his following hits. If you do not dodge the firecrackers, be aware you'll be stunned and unable to defend against any attacks. Second phase is tricky, because you won't be able to lock on to the owl so what I did was just run and lock on when Owl finally came back. Be sure to use Mikiri Counter with Owl's shadowfall as he will do it often. DO NOT use thrust attacks of your own, because Owl will Mikiri Counter it and kill you after. Bottom line, study every movement and deflect.
