LOST PUP. FOUND PUP. MIRACLE PUP. MEET OLLIE, MY LUCKY DOG, WHILE ALPINE BACKPACKING DEEP INTO THE WILDERNESS . DISCOVER THE REMARKABLE STORY OF HOW OLLIE CAME INTO MY LIFE. EXPLORING WITH FRIENDS, WE ANGLE IN SIX LAKES. FISHING AND CATCHING WILD TROUT AND THEN COOKING A FEW AT OUR CAMP. Ollie and I push through the backcountry alone, camping next to a river the first night. Tomorrow, we'll rendezvous with two special friends at the initial lake. It takes us 2 days to reach this remote lake, owing to pack weight and high altitude. We traverse a beautiful forest, arriving at a high mountain lake, where we set up our ultralight tent. As an avid fisherman I cast for fat brookies, and catch a lot but reserving only one for lunch. Employing my preferred deep-fry cook technique, I prepare a mouthwatering meal to eat. Come early evening, our fellow backcountry men, Jeff and Jack, emerge from the woods, eliciting palpable excitement from Ollie. They're a father-son duo, reuniting with us around the campfire, we share laughter and recount the astounding events that led to the discovery of the lost puppy Ollie! Over the next 4 days, we hook some huge fish. Our evenings are graced with fluffy beer batter and tempura fish fry dinners, eating these are a fitting reward for the day's luck.
