Dougs' song pick pf the week. I played this for Heidi who had never heard it and she said I'd missed my calling as a DJ, always finding great little known tracks. I though I'd start to post a song of the week. This one is by the Happy Mondays but was originally "He's Gonna Step on You Again" (also known as "Step On") is a song originally performed by South African singer John Kongos, co-written by Kongos and Christos Demetriou, and first released in 1971 by Fly Records and featured on his second studio album Kongos. It was a hit in Kongos' native South Africa, Australia and Europe and a minor hit in North America that year. To find this version, which is my favorite, I had to wade through several versions including remakes by the original performer as well as a bunch of others and live versions from all of those. Also several version from the Party Boys who had some chart success with their version and it looks like they incorporated it into their live set.
