The Hotaka mountain range with its steep rocky peaks. Until recently, the hotaka peaks, which keep people away, were considered to be an unexplored region of the Northern Alps. The first ascent of Mt. Hotaka, which remains on record, was in 1897. Only a hundred and several decades have passed. From there, the mountain was opened little by little, and the current mountain trail was completed. The main peaks of the Hotaka mountain range are "Okuhotakadake", "Kitahotakadake", "Maehotakadake", "Nishihotakadake" and "Myojindake". Around the highest peak, Oku-Hotakadake, there are terrifying rocky ridges. This time, we will challenge Mae Hotakadake from Taisho Pond in Kamikochi to Takezawa and then through Shigetaro Shindo. Shigetaro Shindo was created by Mr. Shigetaro Imada, who devoted his life to Hotaka. It was a mountain trail of Mt. Hotaka that was gradually opening, and the road from Mt. Takezawa to Mt. Mae Hotaka was very difficult. It was pioneered as a way for people to climb and became the current main route. However, it is one of the most mountainous areas in Japan.
